the SDi divas
Why do we call ourselves divas? When you look at the strength of our creative team and the ability and experience we have in solving marketing challenges from our diverse viewpoints, it’s only fitting that we speak with confidence. With expectations set high, each SDi team member has earned diva status by being the ultimate creative thinker…a catalyst…a problem solver…a good listener…and a respected brand caregiver who watches out for your best interests at all times.

Michele King
Founder/President
Michele is the Founder and President of Shelle Design Incorporated. She began her career as a design and marketing professional by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design/Business minor with honors in fine art from Anderson College (now University)—a Christian, liberal arts college in Anderson, Indiana.
A liberal arts knowledge combined with excellent leadership and creative skills lead her to begin freelancing for various nonprofit community and campus organizations at an early age during her college years. Because of this experience, she quickly advanced in her career in the corporate communications arena at a large corporate division of General Motors in Indianapolis, Indiana—Allison Gas Turbine (now Rolls Royce).
Within three years of earning her degree Michele had advanced to assistant supervisor of the large creative department, acted as project manager for a 24-person editorial staff and provided top-secret government project support to the company’s executive team.
Realizing that shuffling paper was not allowing her to hone her creative skills and feeling a little bored with the corporate grind, she began freelancing again and founded Shelle Design Incorporated in 1988.
With an entrepreneurial vision, Michele began building her creative team and growing her client base in the nonprofit and B2B arena—giving special attention to providing marketing strategies and design support to fraternities/sororities, university publications and foundation teams. Her feminine, creative style, as well as those on her team, soon attracted brands that focus on marketing to women.
Today, Shelle Design Incorporated is recognized for their strong reputation for quality work, ethical business practice and delivering award-winning solutions that speak to women audiences.
Michele is a member of Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity, Rotary International and Psi Iota Xi, a national philanthropic organization supporting the arts, speech and hearing and literature. She is also a sponsoring member of the Fraternity Communications Association, National Panhellenic Conference and the North American Interfraternity Conference.

Meredith Barnett
Designer
Meredith earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Communication and English Literature from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. During that time and previously, she worked for student publications, fostering an interest in graphic design/layout and working in a fun and creative environment. Her school newspaper, The DePauw, is still recognized as the oldest college newspaper in the state and has received many awards, including the Society of Professional Journalists Best All-Around Non-Daily Newspaper Award in 2005, while she was a staff member.
While she is new to the world of all things design, Meredith enjoys learning and executing all aspects of the job, including working with clients, brainstorming new campaigns, logos and magazine design/layout. She also relishes in being the “newbie” in the office, discussing reality TV and throwing the occasional theme party.
Meredith is a member of Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity and Psi Iota Xi, a national women’s service organization.
